The Commandments of God

When I think about the commandments of God, the first 4 talk about loving God and the last 6 about loving man – when people say God did away with the law, does that mean we don’t obey God commandments as believers? No it does not. The law does not save us, but the law shows us what sin is, so if we want to live as a child of God we must obey His laws and commands out of love for Him so we may honor and glorify Him as servants of the Most High God.

He gave all believers His Holy Spirit, so that the world will know He still lives in he hearts of saved men so we may be used by Him to reveal who He is. We as believers have the responsibility to reveal the light by not practicing sin and living holy lives. If sin brings death and if Jesus had to die for our sin to set us free from sin and death, why would anyone want to go back into bondage and live in it?

God’s grace is not a license to sin. God’s Grace is there if you do sin, it is then, when you do sin, you can ask for forgiveness – Jesus came to fulfill the law, not to eliminate the law. We can not live a holy life without the Spirit of God within doing the works through us. God said: Without me you can do nothing. Jesus said: So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:16 – “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Luke 16:13

In other words, you can’t be living your life as the world lives part of the time and the other part live as a believer. Either you are for God, living for Him in complete devotion being sold out with the desire to obey Him or it is nauseating to Him – we all choose how we will serve – it is your choice – God or self –

And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
